Banking Consultant – Customer Engagement

About the role

As a Banking Consultant in ANZ's New Zealand Customer Engagement Division, you will help customers with everyday banking transactions, guide them through financial decisions, and promote the use of digital banking tools. The role is ideal for candidates looking to return to work, change industries, or grow in a people‑first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a seamless branch experience by handling end‑to‑end banking needs, from transactions to needs‑based conversations.
• Educate customers on digital solutions and encourage adoption of online banking channels.
• Act as a collaborative team member, role model, and peer coach to deliver excellent customer service.
• Contribute to increased customer engagement, advocacy, and overall value creation.
• Participate in bank programs and initiatives that support community and growth.
• Maintain a strong “know your customer” approach from a risk perspective.
• Ensure compliance with ANZ and branch policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Exceptional customer focus; retail experience is a plus.
• Comfortable using and promoting technology and digital channels.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to change and ambiguity.
• Willingness to work collaboratively within a team.
• Sound understanding of compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
