About the role
We are seeking an experienced aviation training leader to join Airways International Ltd as the ATS Training Manager. Reporting to the Head of ATS Training, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery, quality and continuous improvement of air traffic services training for both internal and international customers.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight of ATS training delivery, standards, curriculum development and instructor capability.
- Lead a team of ATC Instructors and ATS Training Specialists, fostering a high‑performing culture focused on consistent and effective outcomes.
- Ensure training programmes comply with ICAO, CAA, Airways and NZQA requirements.
- Use data, trends and evaluation results to drive improvements in training effectiveness.
- Collaborate with operational units, workforce planning and key stakeholders to support trainee success and long‑term capability development.
Required profile
- Extensive experience as an ATS Instructor with strong operational knowledge of air traffic control procedures and safety standards.
- Proven leadership experience in coaching instructors and managing training teams.
- Strong understanding of competency‑based training and adult learning principles.
- Ability to analyse data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Experience working with ICAO, CAA, NZQA or similar regulatory frameworks is highly desired.
