Agri Relationship Manager

About the role

The Agri Relationship Manager will develop, maintain and grow a portfolio of agricultural customers across the East Coast, Manawatu & Wairarapa region. Working from either Hastings or Gisborne, you will provide simple, flexible banking solutions and proactive insights that help customers achieve their financial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored banking solutions and actionable insights to agricultural clients.
• Ensure lending reports and recommendations meet mandated credit standards.
• Lead, support and develop Relationship Associates and other staff.
• Conduct regular client meetings to assess needs, maintain credit quality and monitor risks.
• Manage the customer pipeline from initial contact through solution follow‑up.

Required profile

• Strong financial analysis ability, including interpretation of accounts, budgets and cash flow.
• Experience evaluating return on investment and managing cash‑flow‑based lending portfolios.
• Ability to assess and communicate credit risk in line with established standards.
• Proactive identification of early warning signs of credit deterioration.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships in the primary sector.
