Additional Teacher – Home-based Support (Rotorua)

About the role

We are seeking an Additional Teacher to work with a student in their home in Rotorua. This fixed‑term position provides 10 contact hours and 6 planning/reporting hours per week, supporting the learner’s individualized learning programme during school term time.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised teaching and learning support to the assigned student in their home environment.
• Collaborate with the student’s whānau, teachers and support teams to implement the individualized learning plan.
• Prepare lesson materials, assess progress and report on outcomes.
• Allocate six hours per week for planning, documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Current New Zealand Teacher Registration and legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Supportive, well‑organized, flexible and able to engage students.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
