Account Manager

About the role

SMC is looking for an experienced Account Manager to join its Auckland sales team. The role focuses on growing existing customer relationships and generating new business across East to North Auckland, serving both direct customers and distribution partners in the automation and pneumatics market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory and account plans to meet sales targets.
• Maintain and expand relationships with direct customers and distribution partners.
• Identify and convert new business opportunities in key industrial sectors.
• Conduct joint customer visits with technical and product specialists.
• Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and CRM data.
• Analyse market trends to uncover growth opportunities.
• Stay informed on new product releases and applications.

Required profile

• Tertiary engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation).
• Strong relationship‑building and communication abilities.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on safety.
• Current driver’s licence and unrestricted work rights in New Zealand.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
