Workplace Relations Specialist

About the role

You will sit at the centre of our workplace relations function, partnering with leaders, the ER team and union representatives to navigate complex employment matters. The role involves leading national union engagement, supporting leaders through challenging people issues and contributing to broader ER initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support and coordinate union‑involved workplace, employment and agreement matters.
• Represent the organisation in union meetings, forums and issue‑related discussions.
• Contribute to collective bargaining preparation, negotiations, drafting and implementation.
• Coach leaders on workplace conversations, union interactions and employer obligations.
• Support ER change initiatives, consultation and organisation‑wide engagement activities.
• Identify risks, trends and opportunities to strengthen workplace relations.

Required profile

• Confident practitioner in workplace, employment or industrial relations, or a legal advisor.
• Comfortable representing organisational interests and negotiating constructively.
• Strong judgement, clear communication and a practical approach to early issue resolution.
• Ability to build constructive relationships and guide leaders through challenging conversations.
