Water Reticulation Technician – Kaitaia

About the role

Ventia is seeking a Water Reticulation Technician to join its team in Kaitaia. In this hands‑on position you will maintain and repair critical water infrastructure, ensuring reliable water services for the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on water pipes, pump stations and water treatment plant equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair water mains, drainage systems and related infrastructure.
• Respond to on‑call duties and support service continuity across the Far North region.
• Document work performed and adhere to safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with water reticulation assets such as pipes, pump stations, treatment plants or drainage systems.
• Commitment to delivering reliable services in a remote, community‑focused environment.
• Willingness to work on‑call schedules and travel to various sites.

Required skills

• Pipework maintenance and repair.
• Pump station operation and troubleshooting.
• Water treatment plant processes.
• Water mains and drainage system upkeep.
