Transport Operations & Contracts Officer

About the role

The Transport Operations & Contracts Officer will support and improve public transport services across Taitokerau Northland. You will be at the centre of delivering reliable, efficient and customer‑focused bus services, ensuring contractual standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operation of CityLink, SchoolLink and BusLink services.
• Manage the Bee Card ticketing system and related platforms.
• Supervise the Rose Street Bus Terminus and its contracts.
• Respond to public enquiries and feedback to enhance customer experience.
• Monitor bus operator performance, resolve issues and support contract renewals and retendering.
• Conduct site visits, operational check‑ins and health & safety audits.
• Track fare revenue and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare reports and provide monthly data analysis on service performance.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in a related discipline (desired).
• Experience in transport operations or contract management.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
