Tenancy Manager

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Tenancy Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day management of our rental properties in Masterton. The role focuses on building strong relationships with tenants, solving problems quickly and ensuring long‑term, sustainable tenancies that support the wellbeing of our community.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a tenant‑first approach, managing relationships and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Coordinate property inspections, visits and follow‑up actions in an organised manner.
• Handle tenancy documentation, reporting and administrative processes with accuracy.
• Engage with a diverse range of people, including those experiencing vulnerability, to support positive outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and community‑focused projects.

Required profile

• Experience in social services, community housing or a customer‑facing operational environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong planning, organisational and follow‑through skills.
• Sound judgement and professionalism in sensitive situations.
• Ability to balance compassion with accountability.
