Staff Hardware Engineer – R&D

About the role

Enphase Energy is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer to join its Research and Development Centre in Wigram, Christchurch. You will work on next‑generation micro‑inverter and grid‑interface technologies that power the clean‑energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop hardware for Enphase micro‑inverters and grid‑interface products.
• Specify, design, test, and troubleshoot new product designs.
• Manage product designs through Enphase’s new product development process.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise.

Required profile

• BE, BSc, Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience taking products from concept to market launch.
• Experience with international compliance testing.
• Proven ability to design power, analogue and digital electronics circuits.
• Strong knowledge of circuit schematics, PCB layout and simulation tools.
• Exposure to Python, C or FPGA design is a plus.
