Senior Engineer – Industrial Projects

About the role

Dobbie is seeking a senior engineer to lead complex industrial projects across New Zealand. The role offers the chance to work on both greenfield and brownfield sites, delivering reliable and safe plant solutions for a range of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery on projects lasting 3 months to 3 years, with values from $1 million to $400 million.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams of 3‑5 engineers and designers, providing coaching, workload planning and capability development.
• Set technical direction, ensure standards compliance and guide project execution from concept through commissioning.
• Build strong client relationships and develop practical, reliable solutions.
• Support site work, risk management, quality assurance and overall project delivery.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in industrial or process engineering.
• Proven ability to lead medium to large capital projects.
• Strong judgement, standards knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Leadership capability with a genuine interest in developing people.
• CPEng registration is a bonus or a goal.
