Retail Credit Risk Manager

About the role

Revolut is seeking a Retail Credit Risk Manager to oversee the risk profile of its growing retail credit portfolio in New Zealand. You will work within the second line of defence, using data‑driven insights to balance risk‑adjusted returns and protect the business from excessive risk‑taking.

Key responsibilities

• Manage exposure to retail credit risk and ensure it stays within the defined risk appetite.
• Partner with the Risk Modelling team to design, develop, and implement retail credit risk models.
• Calibrate limits, monitor risk appetite, and maintain key policies, procedures, and controls.
• Support relevant risk committees and provide governance for emerging retail credit risks.
• Engage with first‑line businesses, stakeholders, and regional regulators on material risk exposures and limit governance.
• Quantify risk exposures across the organisation, considering stakeholder impact.
• Protect the company from excessive risk‑taking and contribute to cost savings.
• Build trust and reputation with external stakeholders and identify emerging risks requiring immediate attention.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing the risk cycle for retail credit products such as credit cards or unsecured personal loans.
• Strong understanding of credit policy governance and the three‑lines‑of‑defence framework.
• Knowledge of credit risk regulations, issues, and methodologies specific to New Zealand.
• Ability to deliver results, plan for multiple objectives, and proactively resolve issues.
• Familiarity with behavioural scoring models for retail credit products.
