Project Manager – Civil Construction

About the role

Whitestone Contracting Ltd is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to join its growing team in Alexandra. This full‑time position will add tendering and project management capacity to the Civil Division and offers a clear pathway to future senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pricing, planning and tendering for a wide range of civil projects.
• Manage project resources within budget while ensuring safety and target achievement.
• Identify and resolve field problems and faults.
• Conduct risk and opportunity analysis and manage associated actions.
• Develop efficient work teams and ensure project progress using appropriate technologies.

Required profile

• BE, NZCE (Civil) or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification preferred; similar industry experience may be considered.
• Experience in project management of civil construction, roading or 3‑waters projects (preferred but not essential).
• Experience in tendering for local authorities, NZTA or private works (preferred but not essential).
• High‑level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
• Adaptable, flexible and able to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
• Commitment to the highest health and safety standards and ability to meet targets.
