Project Engineer - Site Based

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Industrial team in Invercargill. This site‑based position offers full responsibility for delivering sustaining capital and larger regional industrial projects, working closely with Southland dairy and heavy‑industry clients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver sustaining capital projects such as equipment replacements, safety upgrades, reliability improvements and compliance work.
• Support major capital projects as they arise, providing technical and project management input.
• Manage projects end‑to‑end – from scope definition and planning through to delivery – in partnership with client teams and Beca’s national resources.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships through consistent, high‑quality delivery.
• Work independently on‑site, collaborating with operational teams and key stakeholders while leveraging national project support when needed.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience, preferably in industrial brownfield or operational environments.
• Proven experience managing projects up to $5 million, covering scope, schedule, cost and risk.
• Ability to work autonomously in a regional delivery setting.
• Client‑focused, practical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
