PHP Developer - Remote

About the role

We are looking for a skilled PHP Developer to join our customer’s team on a contractor basis. You will work remotely from the US or Canada, contributing backend expertise to an innovative AI agent project and helping to train AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust PHP applications using the Laravel framework.
• Collaborate closely with AI model trainers to structure data and workflows for AI training processes.
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of scalable, high‑performance back‑end systems.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into efficient, reliable code solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and high‑quality standards.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex back‑end issues during AI model training cycles.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience with PHP and Laravel (or comparable backend technology).
• Proven ability to develop, test, and deploy production‑grade applications.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in a remote work environment.
• Strong grasp of software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously while contributing to team objectives.
• Experience with data‑driven or AI‑related projects is a strong plus.
