Operations Manager – Renewable Energy Assets (New Zealand)

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day technical and commercial operation of our renewable energy portfolio in New Zealand. The role is hands‑on, acting as the primary local interface between contractors, market participants and our central asset management team to ensure safe, reliable and commercially optimised performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily technical and commercial operation of solar, wind and battery assets, monitoring availability, production, outages and key performance indicators.
• Serve as the main local contact for O&M contractors and service providers, ensuring contract compliance and coordinating operational activities.
• Lead regular operational meetings, schedule preventive maintenance and drive performance improvements to maximise asset availability.
• Support onboarding of new assets, contractors and service providers, handling hand‑over documentation and service contract implementation.
• Assist in reviewing and shaping O&M service contracts, providing local market input and coordinating with contractors.
• Provide accurate operational and technical reporting to the central asset management team.
• Support commercial activities such as generation verification, PPA settlement coordination and revenue monitoring.
• Coordinate with local stakeholders – contractors, landowners, grid operators and regulators – and support inspections, audits and site visits.
• Ensure smooth transition of assets from construction to operation, meeting regulatory and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Relevant experience in operations, asset management or project management within the renewable energy or infrastructure sector.
