Operations & Maintenance Manager

About the role

Ventia is looking for an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead the planning and delivery of the Auckland Transport West Roading Maintenance Contract. The role focuses on forward planning, programming and translating job inputs into structured work programmes that drive efficient field delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain annual, quarterly and monthly maintenance work programmes.
• Lead a team of engineers and planners to ensure work is prioritised and budgets are programmed effectively.
• Monitor project delivery to meet time, cost and quality targets while strengthening administrative and transactional processes.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and ensure high‑quality operational outcomes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and programme delivery activities.

Required profile

• Highly organised operations leader with solid experience in roading or similar infrastructure maintenance.
• Proven leadership of planners, engineers and operational teams.
• Strong planning discipline and ability to interpret plans, programmes and contracts accurately.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach with excellent organisational skills.
• Confidence working with clients and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications are advantageous.
• Class 1 NZ driver licence (Class 2 + beneficial).

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office.
