Lead Software Engineer - AI & Automation

About the role

First Focus is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive its AI & Automation team. You will turn prototypes and AI concepts into secure, maintainable production solutions that are actually used across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and support production‑grade AI and software solutions.
• Convert proof‑of‑concepts into stable, operational systems and own them post‑launch.
• Build internal tools, AI agents, automation platforms, integrations and supporting services.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, documentation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Reduce technical debt and ensure long‑term maintainability.
• Collaborate with the AI, Automation & Adoption Manager and business stakeholders to deliver practical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, planning and delivery.

Required profile

• Strong commercial software engineering experience with modern application stacks.
• Proven track record delivering and supporting production‑grade applications or services.
• Solid understanding of secure development practices and operational readiness.
• Experience working in fast‑moving, outcome‑focused teams.
