Information Security Consultant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Consultant to join our client’s team and help strengthen secure delivery solutions across the organisation. You will work closely with architects and engineers to design and implement robust security controls, contribute to enterprise‑wide initiatives, and improve the overall security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and modernise security controls for complex, agile environments.
• Develop and execute information security strategies, roadmaps and control‑modernisation plans.
• Provide risk‑management advice and mitigation strategies to support safe solution delivery.
• Lead security testing, assurance activities and contribute to comprehensive solution designs.
• Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to translate security concepts.

Required profile

• 10+ years of information security experience, including at least 5 years in design or consulting roles.
• Proven experience creating and executing security strategies and roadmaps.
• Strong risk‑management expertise and ability to advise on mitigation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to influence and negotiate across all organisational levels.
• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Computer Science, IT, Law) and preferred certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
• NZ citizenship or residency.
