Graduate Software Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Graduate Software Developer to join Farmlands’ Engineering team in New Zealand. This 24‑month fixed‑term position is designed for recent graduates who are eager to contribute to real projects from day one while receiving structured mentorship and career development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components across the company’s technology stack.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies and team discussions.
• Write clean, well‑documented code and include explanatory comments.
• Collaborate with senior developers to receive mentoring and improve skills.
• Test your own work thoroughly and support quality‑assurance processes.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver business‑focused solutions.

Required profile

• A relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals and a genuine interest in software development.
• Practical experience with at least one modern programming language or framework through study, personal projects or internships.
• Analytical problem‑solving ability and a methodical approach.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback and continuously improve.
