Diesel Technician

About the role

We are expanding our service network with Volvo Truck & Bus and UD Trucks and need an experienced Diesel Technician to join our Albany workshop. Reporting to the Service Foreman, you will keep our heavy‑duty fleet running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy‑duty trucks using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Perform routine maintenance, servicing and inspections to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
• Collaborate with senior technicians, mentor apprentices and share knowledge.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programmes.
• Join the on‑call roster and respond to emergency call‑outs as required.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with heavy‑duty trucks.
• Proven ability in service, repair and diagnostics.
• Strong commitment to safety and a proactive mindset.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills.
• Ideally holds a Class 5 driver licence (support available to obtain).
• NZQA Level 4 qualification in Heavy Road Transport or Heavy Plant & Equipment.
• Reliability and willingness to commit to the team.
