Despatch Coordinator – North Island

About the role

Hynds is seeking a detail‑driven Despatch Coordinator to manage North Island shipments from its Distribution Centre in Pokeno. You will act as the central hub between customers, drivers, carriers and internal teams, ensuring orders are dispatched accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate concrete replenishment orders to North Island branches by route.
• Receive and manage direct‑to‑site customer orders.
• Consolidate and optimise loads to maximise carrier utilisation.
• Maintain booking calendars and provide visibility across departments.
• Communicate delivery times and variations to customers and sales staff.
• Process documentation in the M3 ERP system.
• Check and authorise invoices against carrier rate cards.
• Coordinate customer returns on backloads where possible.
• Support stock control and participate in site stocktakes.
• Maintain rate cards and contact details for transport providers.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in despatch, logistics or a similar coordination role.
• Strong computer proficiency, especially with Outlook, Excel and an ERP system.
• High attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities under pressure.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Collaborative, reliable and flexible attitude.
• Solid understanding of health and safety standards.
