Control Room Operator – Packhouse Production

About the role

The Control Room Operator will be the central hub for keeping the Whakatu Packhouse running smoothly. Working in real‑time, you will coordinate people, systems and fruit flow to ensure efficient production and rapid issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee packhouse production from the control room.
• Coordinate fruit flow and maintain clear communication with the floor team.
• Monitor performance metrics and adjust system settings as needed.
• Respond quickly to production issues and support fast resolutions.
• Collaborate with supervisors, quality, logistics and production teams.
• Maintain accurate system information in Compac and SAP.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Confident communicator in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfortable using computers, including Excel.
• Willingness to learn new systems and machinery.
• Experience in packhouse or production environments.
• Control room or operations coordination experience.
