CCTV Operator

About the role

The CCTV Operator will join the Milford Road Alliance, a partnership between NZ Transport Agency and Downer NZ, based in Te Anau. You will be responsible for daily monitoring of the Homer Tunnel CCTV system, ensuring traffic safety and rapid response to incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV feeds at the Homer Tunnel and surrounding road network during peak periods.
• Report and coordinate immediate actions for any safety or traffic incidents observed.
• Assist with traffic movements and convoy operations across the three alliance bases when required.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of CCTV equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs of observations and actions taken.

Required profile

• Positive attitude with a strong commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to work unsupervised, manage time effectively and pay close attention to detail.
• Team player eager to contribute to team goals and learn new skills.
• Willingness to hold or obtain a current First Aid qualification.
• Full Class 1 driver’s licence.
