Bulk Tanker Driver (Bitumen Transport)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Class 5 driver to join our Silverdale team for a specialist bitumen tanker operation. This fixed‑term position runs from 1 September 2026 to 25 March 2027, with the possibility of extension based on workload.

Key responsibilities

• Operate an 8 × 4 Hino 700 tractor unit with an 18‑speed Road Ranger gearbox and a 4‑axle, 48‑tonne GCM bitumen tanker.
• Transport and deliver bulk bitumen products across the North Island, ensuring safe heating, pumping and transfer.
• Perform pre‑start checks, calibrations, daily inspections and maintain accurate logbooks and delivery records.
• Coordinate timing and site requirements with crew members to keep projects on schedule.

Required profile

• Class 5 licence (Dangerous Goods endorsement can be supported).
• Minimum two years’ experience in line‑haul or heavy‑transport work.
• Experience with bulk liquid or dynamic loads is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently, manage time and be flexible for occasional weekend or overnight assignments.

Required skills

• Operation of Road Ranger automatic gearboxes.
• Handling of hazardous or temperature‑controlled products.
• Use of electronic logbooks, phones and tablets for reporting and job tracking.
