Backend Engineer (Remote Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to join our customers' team on a contract basis. You will design and build robust, scalable backend systems that power innovative digital products while working fully remotely with a group of top‑tier engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that meet high performance standards.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Optimize backend systems for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following best engineering practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, focusing on root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and bring innovative, solutions‑oriented ideas.

Required profile

• 3+ years of proven backend development experience.
• Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases and data‑modeling principles.
• Deep understanding of system security, authentication, and authorization best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, fully remote expert team.
