Automotive Technician – Full Time

About the role

We are seeking a Level 3 apprentice or qualified Automotive Technician to join our award‑winning service team at South Canterbury Toyota in Timaru. You will work in a busy workshop environment, servicing a wide range of vehicles for New Zealand’s most popular brand.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled service and repair work on customer vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using workshop tools.
• Maintain workshop equipment and ensure a clean, safe work area.
• Collaborate with the foreman, service manager and fellow technicians to deliver high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Trade‑qualified automotive technician or experienced 3rd‑year apprentice.
• Professional, reliable work ethic with high personal standards.
• Current New Zealand driver’s licence and NZ residency or citizenship.
• WOF certification preferred but not essential.

Required skills

• Automotive service and repair.
• Vehicle diagnostics.
