Assistant BAS Manager – Accounting & Business Advisory

About the role
We are looking for an Assistant BAS Manager to join our dynamic accounting and business advisory team in Auckland. The role provides hands‑on experience in compliance, taxation and advisory work while supporting staff development and client relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, GST, PAYE, FBT and tax returns.
- Assist with budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and management reporting.
- Support business advisory projects such as valuations, restructuring and funding analysis.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting and support staff.
- Communicate with clients and external parties, providing practical advice.
- Contribute to business development and firm growth initiatives.
Required profile
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent, or progressing towards CA.
- Experience in accounting, taxation and BAS compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
- Ability to supervise staff and manage workflow efficiently.
- Motivation to contribute to client solutions and advisory projects.
Required skills
- Preparation of financial statements.
- GST, PAYE, FBT and tax return filing.
- Budgeting and cash‑flow forecasting.
- Management reporting.
