Asset Controller - Wastewater

About the role

Watercare is seeking an experienced Asset Controller to oversee and optimise wastewater maintenance programmes across Auckland’s critical infrastructure. The role blends hands‑on technical insight with strategic planning, continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement to ensure safe and reliable service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and optimise wastewater transmission asset maintenance programmes.
• Improve asset reliability and performance while managing risk and cost.
• Manage external maintenance contractors and service contracts.
• Analyse asset condition and performance data to support decision‑making.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary technical qualification or trade qualification.
• Experience in maintenance planning, asset or operational environments.
• Contract management and stakeholder relationship experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
• Current full NZ driver’s licence.
