Software Engineering Internship – 2026 (Multiple Teams)

About the role

Join Halter’s fast‑growing engineering team as a 2026 intern and work on real‑world solutions that transform grazing on live farms. You will be a fully‑fledged team member, taking ownership of projects from day one and collaborating across Software, Platform, Machine Learning, and Communications & Fleet Engineering squads.

Key responsibilities

• Develop farmer‑facing mobile and web applications and the backend services that process billions of collar events.
• Design, build, and maintain internal infrastructure, data ingestion pipelines, and CI/CD workflows using AWS and Terraform.
• Create and train machine‑learning models for pasture growth, animal health, and grazing recommendations.
• Implement connectivity and fleet‑management tools that keep collars reliable in the field.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment to ensure software works in paddocks, not just browsers.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university program related to Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a similar field.
• Available to work onsite full‑time (40 hours/week) from mid‑late November 2026 to February 2027.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to collaborate in a high‑performance team.
