Site Sanitation Lead

About the role

The Site Sanitation Lead will join Kraft Heinz's Food Safety Quality team in Hastings, New Zealand, on a fixed‑term contract until May 2027. This role offers a chance to develop a career in hygiene, sanitation, and food safety within a global food and beverage leader.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain and evaluate sanitation procedures, training and operating standards aligned with the Heinz Sanitation Program.
• Lead verification and validation activities, including GMP audits, performance monitoring and environmental monitoring programs.
• Analyse customer complaints and hygiene‑related issues, identify root causes and drive continuous improvement.
• Own Management System standards, Golden Rules and associated reporting requirements.
• Conduct internal and external audits, ensuring timely follow‑up on corrective actions.
• Serve as the primary liaison with third‑party cleaning and pest‑control providers, ensuring service quality and compliance.
• Prepare and deliver monthly Golden Rule reports and quarterly business reviews with cleaning providers.
• Develop sanitation‑related plans and provide training to production employees.

Required profile

• Strong cross‑functional and communication abilities to manage sanitation projects end‑to‑end.
• Analytical mindset for assessing products against specific requirements.
• Tertiary qualification in food science, technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum two years of experience in a quality or food‑safety role.
• HACCP Level 4 certification.
• Experience with internal/external audits, risk assessments and corrective‑action closure.
• Full working rights in New Zealand.
