Purchasing Officer – Procurement & Sourcing

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Purchasing Officer to join our New Zealand team. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing traded goods, raw materials, and packaging, ensuring high quality and competitive pricing while supporting key projects that shape our industry.

Key responsibilities

• Source and purchase traded/resale goods, raw materials and packaging materials.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product and packaging lists in SAP for pricing and freight calculations.
• Manage supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, quality standards and handle claims.
• Collaborate with internal teams to introduce new products and develop new supply sources.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and company inventory policies.
• Monitor inventory levels, freight costs and vendor performance.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in business, commerce, supply chain or science (preferred).
• APICS certification or equivalent (preferred).
• Strong numerical, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Strategic thinker with market‑trend awareness.
• Excellent organisational and project‑management skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and within a team.
