Packaging Technician

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑focused Packaging Technician to join the Supply Chain team at DB Breweries’ Waitemata Brewery in Auckland. In this hands‑on position you will ensure that beer, cider and ready‑to‑drink products leave the line at the right quality, while operating safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and continuously improve packaging machinery to meet production targets.
• Verify that products comply with quality and safety standards.
• Participate in the TPM Continuous Improvement programme using tools such as 5S and Kaizen.
• Perform reactive and preventive maintenance tasks on schedule.
• Collaborate with planning, maintenance and logistics teams to keep operations running smoothly.
• Follow and update Standard Operating Procedures and support team training.
• Flexibly move across different areas as required.

Required profile

• Mechanical or electrical trade qualification (NZCE, Advanced Trade Certificate or equivalent).
• 3–5 years’ experience in packaging or maintenance within brewing, FMCG or food‑and‑beverage environments.
• Experience using maintenance management systems and continuous‑improvement practices.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
• Positive, team‑focused attitude and willingness to learn and share knowledge.

Required skills
