Multi Skilled Operator – Weighbridge & Plant

About the role

Higgins Masterton Quarry is seeking a Multi Skilled Operator to manage the weighbridge and support plant operations. This permanent, full‑time role combines accurate vehicle weighing, data entry, and hands‑on machinery work in a dynamic quarry environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the weighbridge system for all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
• Issue and manage weighbridge dockets, verify load details and ensure accurate documentation.
• Enter data into weighbridge software for billing and reporting.
• Coordinate with drivers, supervisors and customers to maintain smooth site access.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised weighbridge office.
• Provide administrative support such as filing, reporting and stock tracking.
• Operate plant equipment including excavators, loaders, rollers, watercarts and bobcats as required.
• Assist with labouring duties and support safe, efficient quarry and earthworks operations.

Required profile

• Full Class 1 licence with a valid WTR certification (essential).
• Experience in construction, quarrying or roading environments.
• Proven ability to operate a range of plant machinery.
• Basic computer and data‑entry skills with strong attention to detail.
• Reliability, flexibility and a strong safety focus.
