Manager/Associate Director – Valuations

About the role

Deloitte’s Strategy, Risk and Transactions team in Wellington is seeking an experienced Manager or Associate Director to lead valuation engagements across a range of client transactions. You will apply deep analytical expertise to deliver strategic insights that influence decisions on M&A, tax, financial reporting, employee share schemes and dispute resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Value businesses, equity interests, financial instruments and intangible assets for diverse transactions.
• Develop and present valuation models and reports that explain the story behind the numbers.
• Analyse value drivers, industry trends, market benchmarks and cost of capital to identify growth and capital‑optimisation opportunities.
• Provide clear, practical recommendations on complex issues to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years experience in a professional services firm, investment bank or similar environment.
• Specialised expertise in Valuations or Corporate Finance.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
• Strong commercial problem‑solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.
