Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our dedicated team at an Elmwood village in Manurewa. This part‑time position supports the daily food service operations for our residents, ensuring meals are prepared and served to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, cooking, and plating according to resident dietary requirements.
• Perform general kitchen duties such as cleaning, stock rotation, and equipment maintenance.
• Support the healthcare team by delivering meals to residents promptly and courteously.
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment by following established hygiene procedures.
• Continuously develop food preparation skills and knowledge of best practices.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar kitchen or food service role.
• Passion for preparing attractive, tasty meals.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work well in a team.
• Excellent time‑management and multitasking abilities.
• Right to work in New Zealand.

Required skills

• Ability to follow food safety and cleaning protocols.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment operation.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
