IT Officer – Macraes Mine

About the role

OceanaGold is seeking an IT Officer to join its Macraes mine team. The role blends Level 2 support duties with systems administration tasks, working both on‑site at the mine and from the Dunedin office on a 9‑day fortnight schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for Macraes IT systems while covering Level 1 and Level 3 needs.
• Configure, install and maintain IT hardware and new systems at the mine.
• Assist the Support Analyst with ticket triage, task allocation and timely resolution of incidents and requests.
• Serve as the primary in‑person support resource when the Support Analyst is off‑site and participate in the after‑hours on‑call roster.
• Maintain a reliable fleet of hardware, identify proactive replacements and perform basic repairs.
• Support site network, database administration, production systems and both virtualised and physical servers.
• Contribute to internal and operations‑led projects and report progress to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Tertiary‑level degree or equivalent experience in IT or Computer Science.
• Full, current driver’s licence.
