Corporate Accountant

About the role

This corporate accounting position offers a hands‑on, commercial environment where you will work closely with the Financial Controller and experienced accountants. You will be involved in month‑end close, financial reporting, tax compliance and fixed‑asset accounting while also gaining exposure to budgeting, forecasting and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end close activities, including journals, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial results and variance reports.
• Manage GST and FBT returns and support year‑end reporting and audit processes.
• Maintain a large, complex fixed‑asset register, handling depreciation and reconciliations.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and ad‑hoc financial analysis, including fuel cost analysis.
• Provide support to accounts payable and receivable functions when required.
• Contribute to finance systems optimisation and continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Strong Excel capability, including pivot tables and look‑ups.
• Experience in month‑end and core accounting processes.
• Collaborative, practical approach with clear communication skills.
• CA qualification or progress towards it is advantageous but not essential.
• Exposure to commercial accounting, professional services or complex organisations.
