Calf Rearer – Organic Dairy Farm

About the role

Join the Mayflower Organic Dairy team as a Calf Rearer, caring for the next generation of dairy cattle on a fully organic farm. This fixed‑term position runs from mid‑July to the end of August, with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week and the possibility of additional hours.

Key responsibilities

• Feed, weigh and draft young calves.
• Administer drench treatments and monitor health and welfare.
• Assist with milking operations when required.
• Perform general farm duties such as cleaning, moving equipment and supporting other livestock teams.
• Maintain accurate records of calf performance and treatments.

Required profile

• No prior experience required – full training will be provided.
• Strong work ethic, pride in doing the job right and genuine care for animals.
• Comfortable working outdoors and physically fit for manual tasks.
• Hold a restricted or full driver’s licence and have reliable transport.
• Unrestricted legal right to work in New Zealand and availability for an in‑person interview.
