Business Advisory Consultant

About the role

Deloitte Wellington’s Business Advisory team is seeking a motivated Business Advisory Consultant to join a high‑performing group that supports small to medium‑sized enterprises, high‑net‑worth individuals, family groups, Crown entities and not‑for‑profits. You will work closely with clients to provide trusted advice on accounting, tax and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice on a range of business and tax issues, including transaction work, operations and strategy.
• Support domestic and international tax compliance, answering client queries and delivering solutions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and income‑tax returns.
• Build strong relationships with key client contacts, acting as part of their virtual finance team and developing vCFO capabilities.
• Prepare management accounts, forecasts and budgets to help clients achieve their financial goals.

Required profile

• Self‑starter with a strong desire to build networks and progress a consulting career.
• Motivated by delivering high‑quality service to clients of all sizes.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns.
• Ability to develop management accounts, forecasts and budgets.
