Senior Naval Architect – Marine Engineering (Auckland/Whangarei/Nelson)

About the role

Join a leading marine engineering consultancy delivering naval architecture solutions across newbuilding, repair and conversion projects. You will translate concepts into practical, compliant designs while collaborating with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design delivery process, ensuring quality, precision and compliance with marine standards.
• Produce detailed engineering analyses, CAD models and technical documentation.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and client expectations.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and emerging talent.
• Engage with stakeholders to align design solutions with project goals.

Required profile

• Senior or experienced Naval Architect with strong design and analytical expertise.
• Proven ability to translate complex concepts into practical engineering solutions under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for client and stakeholder interaction.
• Commercially aware, customer‑focused and able to take ownership of project outcomes.
