About the role
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is seeking a Senior Lecturer for its School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events. This permanent, full‑time position is based on AUT’s City campus and offers the opportunity to influence teaching, research and academic service in hospitality, gastronomy and events.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in hospitality, tourism and events.
- Develop and update curricula, incorporating practice‑led and research‑informed approaches.
- Supervise student projects and postgraduate theses.
- Maintain an active research agenda, publish in reputable journals and secure research funding.
- Contribute to departmental service, including committee work and community engagement.
Required profile
- PhD in Hospitality, Tourism, Gastronomy, Events or a closely related discipline.
- Early to mid‑career academic with a strong record of teaching excellence.
- Demonstrated research potential and a commitment to publish regularly.
- Professional experience in the hospitality, gastronomy or events sectors is desirable.
