Senior Engineer – Drinking Water Networks

About the role

Wellington Water is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead challenging investigations across drinking water networks in the Wellington Region. This full‑time, 40‑hour per week position is based in our Petone office, close to the train station, cafés and the beach.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex investigations across drinking water systems from concept to commissioning.
• Provide technical support for capital programmes and investment planning.
• Participate in tactical planning for the region’s water network.
• Mentor and develop graduate and intermediate engineers.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor of Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering).
• CPEng registration highly desired.
• Strong technical knowledge of drinking water networks.
• Sharp investigative skills with a solutions focus.
• Excellent relationship management and communication abilities.
