Senior Commercial Analyst Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial Operations team on a 12‑month fixed‑term parental leave cover. Working closely with operational leaders across our manufacturing network, you will shape commercial decisions through financial modelling, analysis and performance reporting. The role is based in either Christchurch or Dunedin and will act as a trusted advisor to site stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial modelling, analysis and commercial insights across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting for operational leaders.
• Prepare business cases, ROI assessments and scenario modelling for key initiatives.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve operational performance.
• Partner with site stakeholders to support informed, commercially‑sound decision‑making.

Required profile

• Commercially‑minded finance professional with a strong understanding of operational performance metrics.
• Chartered Accountant qualification preferred, or equivalent commercial finance experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, processing or industrial environments is highly valued.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for financial modelling.
• Power BI or similar analytics tools.
• Databricks or comparable data‑platform experience.
