Senior Advisor – Operations & Service Delivery

About the role

The Ministry of Justice is seeking an experienced Senior Advisor to support the Chief Operating Officer within the Operations and Service Delivery (OSD) group. You will work across the organisation, justice sector, ministerial and judicial offices to help deliver the Ministry’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide trusted advice to the COO and senior leadership on policy and operational matters.
• Lead and coordinate significant projects and initiatives across OSD.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies and justice partners.
• Support the development and implementation of legislative and regulatory processes.
• Maintain and expand networks to facilitate collaboration and influence outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering high‑impact advice and leading complex work streams.
• Strong understanding of New Zealand’s government machinery and legislative processes.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive partnerships.
• Excellent influencing skills at senior levels.
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a close‑knit team.
