Robotic Cutter Operator – Trenchless Pipeline Specialist

About the role

Join Brian Perry Civil as a Robotic Cutter Operator, working on the frontline of trenchless technology to restore and maintain underground pipelines across New Zealand. You will operate specialised robotic cutting equipment inside live pipelines, delivering non‑invasive solutions for a variety of civil infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate robotic cutting equipment to remove obstructions within pipelines.
• Conduct CCTV inspections to assess pipe condition before and after works.
• Interpret CCTV footage and produce clear, accurate reports for project teams.
• Collaborate closely with rehabilitation crews to support end‑to‑end project delivery.
• Maintain plant and equipment to ensure reliability and optimal performance.
• Follow safe work practices and contribute to a strong site safety culture.

Required profile

• Experience operating robotic cutters, CCTV equipment, or similar plant.
• Background in civil, drainage, plumbing, or pipeline rehabilitation preferred.
• Full NZ driver’s licence; Class 2 or 4 advantageous.
• Ability to read plans, interpret data, and solve problems on the job.
• Good communication skills and confidence working with diverse teams.
• Reliable, hands‑on approach with a focus on quality work.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
