Project Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer to support one of New Zealand's most significant transport infrastructure initiatives – the Northland Corridor Warkworth to Te Hana (Ara Tūhono) project. Based initially in Auckland and later at an office between Warkworth and Wellsford, you will work across the full project lifecycle, from tendering to construction delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate scope of works and develop delivery options.
• Create project programmes, staging plans and tender documentation.
• Design construction methods, lifting plans and detailed drawings.
• Manage schedules, critical path and work breakdown structures.
• Coordinate technical activities, subcontractors and liaise with design and commercial teams.
• Apply digital engineering tools such as GIS and BIM to optimise delivery.
• Identify risks and promote safe work practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering civil or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
