About the role
Join Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s Surgery division and help shape the future of operating‑theatre solutions. As a Product Development Engineer you will work in a fast‑moving, start‑up‑like environment, applying a “fail fast, learn faster” mindset to bring new medical devices from concept to market.
Key responsibilities
- Support the existing surgical product portfolio and drive enhancements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define user needs, design concepts, and manufacturing processes.
- Lead rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration cycles while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and manage 510(k) submissions and other design‑control documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges throughout product development.
Required profile
- Degree in Chemical & Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience in the medical‑device or similarly regulated industry.
- Proven ability to work in a flexible, fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
- Strong communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
Required skills
- 510(k) regulatory compliance.
- Design control processes from user‑needs capture to manufacturing release.
