Laboratory Technician – Extraction Team

About the role

AsureQuality is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its Extraction team in Lower Hutt, Wellington. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative laboratory environment testing a wide range of food matrices for pesticides and veterinary medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, log and handle incoming samples according to ISO 17025 standards.
• Perform a variety of extraction techniques on samples.
• Conduct laboratory analyses for pesticide and veterinary medicine residues.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with the WorkSafe Act 2015.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Collaborate with team members to meet quality and safety targets.

Required profile

• Passion for science and environmental issues.
• Knowledge of chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, quality‑controlled environment is a plus.
• Tertiary education in Chemistry or a related field is highly regarded.
