About the role
Te Awamutu Medical Centre is seeking a qualified General Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner to join its large, multidisciplinary team. The role can be full‑time or part‑time and involves delivering family medicine and urgent‑care services to a patient base of around 14,000.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary‑care consultations, including diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up.
- Deliver urgent‑care services and manage acute presentations.
- Collaborate with GPs, physician associates, pharmacists, health‑improvement practitioners and other specialists.
- Participate in specialised clinics and contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Utilise the Medtech Evolution electronic health record system for documentation and prescribing.
Required profile
- Current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) or the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NZNC) and an active Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Practical experience in a general practice setting, preferably in family medicine or urgent care.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand.
- Strong clinical judgement, a friendly and empathetic approach to patients.
- Team‑oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Medtech Evolution electronic health record software.
